Your Steel Pan is a 'highly strung' and very sensitive instrument. Care should be taken to keep your pan in tip top condition.
DO
Keep your pan clean
Get your pan tuned frequently
Store your pan in a suitable case or container.
Don't
Strike the pan with anything but the sticks
Store the pan with the belly touching a hard surface
Rest your pan on its acoustic skirt
Let dirt or other substances get into contact with your pan.

Store you pan carefully
Store your steel pan in a place where it will not damaged.
Do not rest heavy objects on top of the pan.

Do not hit the pan with anything other than the pan sticks provided.
